Political Topics
I want to see Finland flourish into a more multicultural, equal and international country, one that sets an example to the rest of the world with its successes. We can achieve this by strengthening the position of young people in the country, by investing in education and research and by daring to develop into a Finland of the future.
Education
We need to invest in our education in Finland. We have a good foundation to have the best school in the world, but to reach that goal we need more resources to develop. Students today need more and more support in school, which requires more adults in the classroom. We also need to bring back traditional learning materials, to help students with their concentration and a safe learning environment. However, this does not mean abandoning digital tools altogether, as pupils also need to learn how to use them both in class and in their free time.
Second and third level education already has a functioning dual model, but we need to ensure that these models are equal to each other, that students have the opportunity to continue their studies regardless of their first programme. Everyone has the right to a quality and safe education.
Culture
Culture creates sociability and well-being and makes us human. Culture creates jobs, adds value and is valuable. And it is the task of local authorities to ensure that culture is accessible to all residents of the municipality, both young and old.
In recent years, the role of culture has been jeopardised and we as a society have forgotten its meaning. The role of culture is to educate and above all to entertain. Culture can be eye-opening but also harmonious. Art and culture are a very important part of society and we need to preserve it, keep it strong and vibrant and it should be accessible to all. By ensuring a cultural policy that supports diversity and a wide range of cultural offerings, we strengthen the well-being and welfare of the Finnish people.
Municipal vitality
I want to continue working for a welcoming municipality that actively welcomes new residents and businesses. We need sustainable investments and new thinking to develop the municipality into a viable and active municipality. For a vibrant municipal centre, we need more housing of different types to attract both young and old. We also need to ensure that local transport to and from Siuntio works as well as possible, so that it is possible to commute to and from work. The municipality should also be egalitarian, equal, and welcome everyone who wants to come and live and work in Siuntio, regardless of background or culture.
